Crossroads

Rojak is a complicated kind of dessert.
You wouldn't know which fruit you are taking,
not until you take a bite,
because everything is covered with a thick layer of dark Belacan sauce.

You think, you hesitate,
because you might get a sour mango
if you don't choose with a careful and proper manner
before you take anything from the plate.
People at the same table give you advices and tell you their thoughts.
Even though they are not sure what is that underneath the dark sauce.
They heard from other people,
oh, maybe you can smell it,
or look at the colour, they say.
They are trying to help,
for they don't wish to see you suffer and regret later.

Follow your heart.
Listen to what it really wants.
Trust your instincts.
Believe yourself.

Even if you have chosen the mango,
do not regret.
Take a deep breath and have a bite.
You can feel a tiny pang of sweetness despite the sourness.
